Our golf coaches
We coaches at Ågesta golf club and Petter Jonsson Golf Academy are passionate about making your golf more fun. With over 25 years of experience helping all categories of golfers, we have what it takes to make your golf a better experience. Sometimes we need that little extra to get ahead. Or to get started. We coaches help you whether it's about getting a better ball hit, hitting straighter, short shots or making better decisions on the course.
We offer private or group training. Junior training, testing of Cobra clubs, etc. Do not hesitate to contact us with your requests.
A warm welcome to Ågesta
Peter Jonsson
Head professional

I started playing golf in 1986 at Mjölby GK. I have always loved to practice a lot. That meant that after a few years I could play professionally and try to make money from my game. The practice and discussions with friends made the step towards teaching natural when I gave up trying to live on the prize money from the competition. Since 1996 I have been working full-time helping golfers get more out of their game. I hope we will meet during a lesson this summer or at the golf club somewhere. I have worked at Ågesta since 2011.
Philosophy:
The conditions control the result. The right swing principles, adapted equipment and good decisions. What we do before the shot is what we have the greatest chance of influencing. It is through repeated practice of the same things that we become sustainably better.

I have spent my entire life playing golf and was basically raised on the golf course. My golf journey began at Åda Golf & Country Club, where my father was the coach. I became a professional golfer at the age of 19 and played in the Nordic League for three years, as well as participating in mini tours. After realizing that it was challenging to make a living playing golf, the transition to becoming a coach became quite obvious. In 2024, I will begin training to become an authorized coach.
Philosophy:
My swing philosophy is based on getting the hands and arms to cooperate with the club. This way, the body is able to move in a desirable way, which in turn leads to more enjoyable rounds of golf.
